These units are specially designed to wilt the outer husks of sweet corn ears for ease of husking. The Wilter also transports green (unhusked) corn to an existing conveyor or elevator system. The system is equipped with a properly sized electric motor which drives a positive eccentric drive. This is a mechanical vibratory conveyor construction with extra heavy mild steel pan and framework, powder-coated. Mounted on the centerline of the inside of the bottom pan is a 1” diameter stainless steel steam pipe with holes to wilt unhusked ears. The unit is capped with galvanized sheet metal cap and sealed to pan. The capacity of this unit is typically 40 to 60 tons per hour. Also, includes sub-structure steel framework for inside of clients concrete base, for mounting unit.

The white food grade belting of the conveyor is constructed with a “C” section v-guide on the underside for positive tracking. Weighted shears assist feeding to stainless steel hoppers. Modular angle mounted conveyor bed is constructed of stainless steel. Conveyor bed rails are stripped with UHMW material, to reduce the belt drag. Pulleys are constructed of stainless steel, plus lagged drive pulley. Included in the system is support structure, which mounts to the shaker feed framework and hoppers.

Power Husker

Power Husker

This machine is designed to remove husks, hair, stalks, and other waste from corn cob without damaging kernels. Electric motors power the husking roll bed through a series of enclosed gear drivers. Oscillators help align the product and prevent clogs and jams. Husking roll shafts are five segments long and arranged into lanes. All product contact parts are stainless steel or other non-corrosive materials. Frame is mild steel construction, hot dipped galvanized.

4-Lane – The husker has eight husking rolls arranged into four husking lanes. The capacity of this unit is typically 3-4 tons per hour.
8-Lane – 16 husking rolls arranged into 8 husking lanes. 8-10 tons per hour capacity
12-Lane – 24 husking rolls arranged into 12 husking lanes. 12-14 tons per hour capacity

Auto-Lube System

Automatic lubrication system for huskers and orienters. The auto-lube system control panel is powered by 120 volt, 60-cycle voltage. This supplies power to the Red Lion or Eagle timers. The PLC controller and its Y’s outputs and the motor relays loop voltage. The controller’s X’s inputs are internally sourced. Each unit to be auto lubricated has a MSP control box with shunt valve to control grease flow and a cycle switch to count flow of grease through this box.

Hydraulic Discharge Leg Jack

An option to A& K’s Power Husker (Series I & II), the discharge legs are equipped with hydraulic jacks. Using these jacks the angle of the machine can be adjusted to limit the amount of time product stays in contact with the Husking Rolls. This in turn directly affects the aggressiveness of the Husking Bed to suit the type of product being husked.

Extra Height Stand

Modular designed stands provide extra height for each base Husker and Shaker Feeder. Construction of extra heavy mild steel, hot dipped galvanized. Mounts directly to base Husker and Shaker leg supports.

The unit comprises of three parts, stainless steel infeed impact vibrating shaker pan, v-grooved pan that aligns cobs in a single line before the adjustable live roller section at the discharge end automatically drops out short cobs of corn and small broken pieces of corn from the system. This unit has been specially designed to automatically separate, align, orient, and feed sweet corn cobs one-by-one to the A&K “Power Corn Cutter”. The Power Corn Cutter then removes the kernels with a minimum of damage to the product. Knife Honer

Unit is designed for 3AR and SC-120 Corn Cutter knives. A rigid tubular base that can be positioned on a table or bench supports the Honer. The unit is powered by a 1/4 hp, 110 volt, and single phase electric motor. Special knife holder and adjustable jigs provide the operator with the means to maintain the critical angles and sharp cutting edges required on the cutter knives. Honing solution is dripped onto the honing belts from a metering device. One rag wheel and strop are included for buffing knives. Stainless steel construction. Also included are six (6) extra #320 grit belts for outside edge grinding and three (3) extra grit belts for inside edge grinding. Estimated shipping weight is 400 lbs.
